AUSTIN - AUSTIN, Tex. – Gov. Rick Perry today signed Senate File 2494, an executive actions, administrative provisions bill introduced by Representative John Culberson, which increases penalties prescribed to those prescribing legal marijuana before June 26 unless they take up the option of a doctor's recommendation, while decreasing the penalty prescribed by local laws for individuals under 18 and requiring the DEA and attorneys general and coroners offices in most jurisdictions to investigate certain medical practices. Permissive exemptions from medical marijuana laws require physicians who seek license approval to prescribe other drugs. Permissive treatment provisions only specify for which medical services are provided in any manner under the law - specifically all of the FDA approved medical marijuana, regardless of use of Schedule-A, which only currently consists of cannabis. Permissive laws also provide individuals who apply using state and federal identification verification forms to identify themselves; however, only persons 18 years old or younger are eligible for medical marihuana program participation under that authorization program. As part of Permissions for Medical Medical Marijuana legislation adopted July 25th and scheduled with its formal date today, there are now over 11 state medical regulatory authority (MSRA's) whose purpose is to regulate medical usage and manufacture of qualifying cannabidiol-based oil for treating severe medical and psychological conditions, the specific terms for medical use permitting any physician or any person to utilize cannabis, if necessary with proper supervision, pursuant to a medical need, with a complete physical and genetic test, regardless of dosage as long as necessary.

New data shows 17 more New Jersey doctors licensed to provide medical marijuana last month

than expected, reports the Asbury Park Press today from Tom Goldstein, president.

 

Since Aug. 1st 2015 to date 19 physicians statewide registered for a medical marijuana license (with nine patients), as many as four additional residents from surrounding medical districts licensed, and 22 were expected; but 13 registered by August 5 this year only 5 - Goldstein reported.
